Hot off the presses is Gartner’s annual CMO Spend Survey for 2018 – 2019, co-authored by Gartner analysts Ewan McIntyre and Anna Maria Virzi. Gartner surveyed 621 marketing executives in North America and the U.K. at companies with $500 million to $10 billion or more in annual revenue to uncover top trends.
Among the top trends: personalization is no longer just a nice-to-have, but a must, with 14.2% of budgets spend on personalization efforts. As the authors go on to say:
The increasing focus on customer experience and the fight for customer attention reflects personalization’s emergence as a strategically important marketing capability.
